eSALSA
eSALSA – eService Agency in the State of Saxony-Anhalt
Initial situation

The universities in the state of Saxony-Anhalt have developed and oriented themselves differently with regard to the digitization of teaching, resulting both in challenges and lighthouse projects at the same time. Importantly, the competencies with regard to digitized teaching/learning and examination scenarios at the universities vary in their development and location. In order to coordinate the sustainable development of digitization in the universities, the foundations for a state-wide level of coordination in the area of digitization of higher education will be created in a joint project based on transfer and synergy.

Project idea and goals

The “Innovation in Higher Education Teaching” foundation is funding the collaborative project eSALSA (eService Agency in the State of Saxony-Anhalt) from 2021 to 2024. The goal of eSALSA is to create the conditions for efficient digital support of higher education at all universities in the state and to establish sustainable structures in the areas of technical equipment and support and qualification of teachers. Through the creation of joint service structures in the area of digitally supported higher education teaching and the ongoing exchange between all project partners, the different expertise in the state is bundled and synergies are created to serve the quality development of higher education teaching in Saxony-Anhalt. The focal points of the project include the topics “e-examinations”, “hybrid teaching/learning scenarios” and “online qualification offers”.

Results

Based on the experience gained, the existing as well as the tested teaching, learning and examination settings within the university will be further developed and transferred to new contexts. Developed educational resources will be made available as Open Educational Resources.
