Elke Mählitz-Galler is working as research associate in the project „h2d2 – didaktisch und digital kompetent Lehren und Lernen“ (“h2d2 – teaching and learning in a didactical and digital context”) at the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal. In the newly developed Practice Innovation Lab she is developing and implementing innovative teaching and learning scenarios in the context of internships, personal competencies and job profiles. Peer-to-peer reflection and communication with business partners to ensure knowledge transfer and sharing is one of the main goals of the project.
Elke is a certificated trainer for Service Learning and gained teaching experience. She holds a doctor’s degree in Egyptology and was promoted with an international scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service. Working as a long-time associate on excavations of the German Archaeological Institute, Department of Cairo, she gained international experience; among others in a joint project with the University of California, Los Angeles.
