Stefan Püst

Stefan Püst is a research associate in the MusiGeNuM project, which is researching the challenges of digitalization in music schools. Together with an interdisciplinary team, he is investigating how traditional music education methods can be optimized through digital support. The focus is on the development of learning scenarios that make musical learning – especially reading music – more effective. Using eye-tracking, success strategies for reading music and sight-reading are analyzed in order to integrate these findings into music school and rehearsal practice in a targeted manner. The MusiGeNuM project promotes equal opportunities and educational equity in musical education and researches the role of digital skills of students and teachers in order to strengthen self-efficacy in instrumental and vocal teaching.

Stefan Püst holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and an M.Sc. in Digital Media from the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences. He previously worked as an app developer and IT administrator at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. He then moved to the Creative Technologies program at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF as a research assistant, where he was responsible for courses on physical computing and machine learning. He then worked as a software developer for a company in the field of medical eye diagnostic devices before taking up his position in the MusiGeNuM project in May 2024.
